When is the marquee set up and taken down?
This depends on the size of your marquee. We will normally aim to begin construction on Tuesday or Wednesday before the event. Unlike some companies, our crew will remain on site until the required work for that day has been completed. We do not run to a 9am-5pm timetable. Flexibility is crucial to you, and we will accommodate that to the best of our abilities.
How long is the hire period?
We normally aim to take down a marquee on the Monday after a Saturday event. Should you wish to extend the hire period suitable arrangements can easily be made, depending on availability of course.
How flexible are you when it comes to changing our design?
The sooner we know about alterations, the better the end result. Colours, furniture and lighting arrangements can be jigged, normally during the ‘set up’. It’s difficult to change the dimensions of a whole marquee the day before an event though!!!
How much weather can a marquee withstand?
All marquees are very sturdy providing that they are properly anchored. They are manufactured to withstand wind loading of up to 60 mph and can normally survive much higher winds than this. We discourage using the traditional Pole and Rope Tents between October and March given the less predictable weather conditions.
Are underground cables and pipes affected by the marquee?
Marquees are generally secured with large pins and these will damage any cables or pipes running beneath the site. We always check whether there are underground services during the site visit.
What about the lawn or flowerbeds?
Temporarily yes. Grass that has been covered for several days will not look its best but will quickly recover. We take great care not to damage plants during the erection and dismantling of the marquee.
A marquee in winter?
With the improvements in marquee construction and general heater technology, marquees are now ideal venues for Christmas and New Year parties. Powerful heaters provide warmth, and hard flooring protects the marquee from wet winter ground. More and more people are now utilising all the advantages of a marquee venue for their winter event.
A lined or unlined marquee?
Lined marquees are more luxurious and are an essential element of a traditional wedding-style marquee. With unlined marquees, the PVC walls and marquee structure are fully visible, making them more suitable for functional or casual events. Our policy is to include linings with all our marquees- even the smallest blemishes are magnified by the absence of a lining, and our customers satisfaction is compromised.
